If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, I am about to talk about my favorite baby product, again. I just can’t help it. I love this product so much, and when Ergobaby reached out to ask me to review their latest baby carrier I could not refuse. I loved the one I got when my son was little, and I knew I would just love this one too.
Now, of course, I used the product first before I wrote this review. I took my son out to a local fair with me. He is three so he did walk some, but his little legs got tired quick. That was when the Ergobaby Omni 360 came in hand.
Now my son is three and thirty pounds. This put him at the top of the weight range for this carrier, which maxes out at thirty-three pounds. Let me tell you once I had him strapped to my back (our favorite carrying position) I did not feel like I had an extra thirty pounds weighing me down. I am not saying he was light as a feather, but he felt comfortable.
The nice thing about having the baby carrier is that he got to enjoy the fair, I got to enjoy the fair, and no one was uncomfortable. I was able to still eat and drink. He was about to steal the occasional food from me. It was a good day for all. And I knew by the end of the day I felt good about reviewing and recommending this product to all of you.
This carrier has many perks too. Mine was rather simple back in the day, but Ergobaby has come a long way. Allow me to tell you all the good things about this baby carrier.
No Infant Insert
Don’t you just hate messing with infant inserts when it comes to carriers? If you have never had a baby carrier allow me to paint a picture for you. You, the tired parent, have to get a lot done today, or maybe you are just going out of the house with friends for a little bit (in that case this will take place by your car in a parking lot). Your baby is tired too (because who else was keeping you up all night?) They are easily agitated and now you have to try to strap them into this small contraption before even trying to put them in the carrier itself. They start to cry and wiggle, which makes it that much harder. Once you have them strapped in you have to worry about them over heating with all that extra fabric.
You don’t have to worry about that with the Ergobaby Omni 360. There is no need for an infant insert. Instead, the seat of the carrier is fully adjustable. Ergobaby has implemented super strong velcro in order for the parent to be able to easily adjust the carrier for whatever size the child is. This is such a better alternative to infant inserts. Take it from a mom whose been there. Now your baby does have to be 7 pounds before they are big enough for the carrier, but this is a requirement of most carriers.

This carrier also offers several positions other than the tradition front carrier. Let’s go over them.
Forward Facing Carry
This one is obviously where the baby sits in the front of you but instead of facing you, they face out. Not many carriers are ideal for this position. A lot of carriers that allow this position don’t sit the baby probably or give them enough support. This can cause for their legs to get sore if exposed to this position for too long.
This is not the case with the Ergobaby Omni 360. With the adjustable seat, your child can sit comfortably while facing the world. Your child does need to be fourteen pounds before this position is safe, but with how fast babies grow, they’ll be big enough in no time.
This position isn’t something I see in very many carries. I do know some that offer it, though, and I consider it a perk. I use this position mostly when it is warm outside. I am not going to sit here and tell you how great this carrier is without tell you that sometimes is it just too hot outside for this. Now Ergobaby does offer a carrier for warmer weather, but if you buy this one instead you might want to just try the side carry on warm days.
It is fairly simple to master as well. Ergobaby provides easy to follow instructions with all of their carriers, and there are plenty enough YouTube videos out there to help guide you.
I use this position all the time. It is my favorite when we go on long trips with my son. The truth is I don’t want him strapped to the front of my all the time. When he is there I have a hard time talking to anyone. He is three. He likes to insert himself into every conversation.
This position is probably the hardest to master but with a partner, it can be done. Once they are on your back you’ll feel more like you are carrying a lightweight backpack and less like a heavy child. This is how I take my son to do anything that will require us to be out all day.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 has many advantages to it as well.
It allows you to go hands-free.
I don’t think any parent realizes how much time will be spent holding their own child until the time comes. I can not tell you how many parents I heard say they aren’t going to hold their child too much, and then the baby is born and they have no choice. Sometimes the only way to soothe a crying baby is to hold it.
With the Ergobaby Omni 360, you can hold your baby and get things done around the house. Even if you just need to get some work done from home, the carrier comes in handy. It provides a way for your baby and you to be happy.
No Bulky Stroller
We all know how much I hate strollers. They are literally too big for anything other than a stroll through a large open field and they don’t fit inside your car either. I ditched the stroller a long time ago for an Ergobaby carrier. Once you get rid of your stroller and start using a baby carrier, you’ll never go back. Having that much freedom is addicting.
With all these benefits to the Ergobaby Omni 360, why won’t you buy it? I mean all the cool kids are using carries now anyway. Maybe you should consider making the switch too.
